Saddens me as well about Tim and Jeff. Dream Brother: The Lives And Music of Tim and Jeff Buckley does a decent job of telling you their stories.
I had just started listening to Jeff Buckley about 4-5 months before he drowned. I didn't know much about his dad at that point, and I just found it so sad to read about this incredibly talented man who was apparently getting himself pulled together and who thought his tolerance was higher than it was. Gone at 28. I think Jeff was 30 when he drowned.
The quote of above is one of my favorite passages from Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (a book I reread about every 3-4 years). I have never climbed a "real" mountain, but I have climbed many of my own making.
"Nothing can make the same difference as you acting differently."
When it is over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument.
I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.

Love his face.
Love LOVE his hair.
Reminds me of my older brother's hair.
So, Tim was Jeff's dad?
I need to go google...
Yep. Tim was Jeff's dad. If you get a chance, read Dream Brother. It's about Tim and Jeff.
I love his face, hair, voice, too.
I read up on Jeff's father on the internet, and man oh man, did that make me sad.
How is it possible that 2 such beautiful human beings died so tragically, so young?
I'm loving the quote you posted above about how to climb a mountain.

What he says is so true.
