I like John Irving but have not read Hotel New Hampshire. I will put it on my "to read" list. I have read The World According to Garp, The Cider House Rules, A Prayer for Owen Meany, and A Widow For One Year.
Love this quote, too. Frida has always fascinated me. I hope to go see her Blue House at some point in time.
Reading Just Kids. You will indeed want to read it.
"Nothing can make the same difference as you acting differently."
When it is over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument.
I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.

Good quote.
Hell, great quote.
Ever read any John Irving?
Isn't it Hotel New Hampshire in which the beloved dog, Sorrow, stuffed after death, floats upon the ocean?
I think I need to read some Irving again.
Maybe his words will bolster me, buck me up, push me through a wall.
